2015 TASC
- 26,034 took the TASC in 2014 vs. 44,200 in 2012, a 44.7% decrease
- 50.2% of test-takers passed the TASC in 2014 (57.3% with grandfathered scores) vs. 53.8% in 2012
- Math and Writing had the lowest pass rates
- Final 2014 data and new assessments will be released by end of March, 2015
NEW YORK STATE PATHWAYS FOR EARNING A HIGH SCHOOL EQUIVALENCY (HSE) DIPLOMA
- Passing the TASC – the only state subsidized high school equivalency test in NYS
- Meeting the requirements of the National External Degree Program (NEDP) – there is only one provider in NYC -- SEIU 1199
- Earning 24 college credits
2015 TASC
- The 2015 TASC will be available as of March 30, 2015. Use the 2014 TASC and TASC Readiness Assessment until then.
- Shift in "Depth of Knowledge": fewer level 1 questions, more level 2 and 3 questions
- New item types:
- -- Constructed response (CR) (1-2 paragraphs)
- -- Technology-enhanced (TE) – introduced in 2015 and fully implemented in 2016
- -- Drag-and-drop, with and without sequencing
- -- Evidence-based selected response (more than one part to the question)
- -- Multiple-select response (more than one answer)
